As part of an ongoing programme of twice‑yearly workshops involving the MPA Lime Health and Safety Working Group, a full‑day workshop was held focusing on Transport and Logistics. Members shared the issues they are facing, along with the solutions they are using to address them.
The shared learnings were wide-ranging across the movement of the essential mineral materials, including these topic headings:
- Vehicle movements on production and customer sites
- Loading (production and 3rd party site backloads)
- Deliveries (3rd party sites)
- Driver Training (CPC lime training module)
- PPE compliance (production and 3rd party sites)
- MP Connect type issues (training check, communication)
- FORS
The outputs of the workshop are being used to consider reviewed transport targets and standards for the lime industry.
